About Gary Bishop

Gary was born and raised in Corner Brook and, like many young people at that time, at the age of 17 left home to attend university. Gary married his wife, Elaine and together, they have two children, Connie and Michael. Gary’s first job was with The Bank of Nova Scotia. Starting his career at the Churchill Park branch in St. John’s, he proceeded to be employed by the Bank of Nova Scotia for the next 16 years,
serving 15 communities throughout Atlantic Canada.

In 1992, Gary and his wife Elaine purchased a business in Pasadena and opened a grocery store. After eight years in this business, they both ventured out into a Real Estate career, which is their current employment.

Gary is very community minded – he has served on many volunteer boards and committees such as Pasadena Lions Club, Pasadena Winter Carnival, Deer Lake Regional Airport Authority, and Chair of the Great Humber Joint Council (just to name a few). As well, Gary has served on the Pasadena town council for 20 years, and at present, he holds the position of Mayor. Gary is a community leader, living in the St. George’s – Humber District, and hopes that through this campaign and hopeful election, to build a better future for this district.
