About Calvin Manning

Calvin Manning was born and raised in St. Bride’s on the Cape Shore of Newfoundland and Labrador. He grew up as part of a family enterprise that was involved in wholesale, retail and the tourism sector.

Calvin graduated from MUN with a degree in Political Science and went to work in Community Development as Executive Director of the Regional Development Board for Placentia & St. Mary’s Bay, where he worked with community groups and organizations throughout the district. Calvin also worked with construction development projects in Fort McMurray as well as Argentia, Long Harbour and Bull Arm.

Calvin is an avid supporter and volunteer with Diabetes Canada as well as Atlantic Hope Women’s Centre. In the past he has served as director with Avalon Convention and Visitors Bureau, Hospitality NL, Targa, Placentia Bay Integrated Management and Friends of Cape St. Mary’s to name a few.

Calvin and his wife Rhonda have two sons, Luke and Jacob. He has always had a passion for community development as well as politics. With strong support and encouragement from family and friends Calvin made the decision to offer himself for public office with a particular interest in working with fellow Newfoundlanders and Labradorians as we work our way out of this pandemic.
