Meet Hal Cormier: A Proven Leader; Committed to Community
Hal has spent his life working to strengthen his community - through leadership, service, and a strong belief in the power of working together.
First elected to the Town of Pasadena Council in 2017 and re-elected in 2021, Hal brings a thoughtful, steady voice to local government. During his time on Council, he has served as Chair of the Public Works Committee and Recreation Committee, helping to improve essential services, promote healthy lifestyles, and support local families.
Outside of municipal government, Hal has a long record of professional and volunteer service. For more than three decades, he has worked with Corner Brook Pulp & Paper, where he serves as an Occupational Health & Safety Committee Representative and is a certified Lift Truck Trainer through IVES Canada. His dedication to workplace safety and team development reflects the same values he brings to his work in the community—collaboration, responsibility, and integrity.
Hal is also a passionate volunteer and community leader. He has served as President of the Marble Mountain Ski & Ride Club and has been actively involved in school councils at Pasadena Elementary, representing both parents and the broader community. A long-time contributor and volunteer with local triathlon committees in Corner Brook and Pasadena, Hal believes in supporting events that bring people together and promote well-being.
Born and raised in western Newfoundland, Hal is proud to call Pasadena home. Whether it’s through Town Council, volunteer work, or his professional life, Hal is committed to building a stronger, more connected community—one where everyone has a voice and a chance to succeed.
