Born and raised in Twillingate, Mark is a graduate from J.M Olds Collegiate and a former Canadian Armed Forces reservist. He completed a three year Automotive Technology program at the College of the North Atlantic and has nearly 25 years in the automotive industry. He has also represented Newfoundland and Labrador at national skills competitions, and has placed in the top 10 Honda Technicians in Atlantic Canada.

Volunteering, being a sports enthusiast and a two-time cancer survivor portrays that Mark values teamwork and resilience. These attributes are what Mark feels are best suited to represent the district.  He also takes pride in being approachable and has a willingness to listen to everyone.

He and his wife, Susan, have been married for 22 years and have two children, Samantha and Mitchel.
