(February 5, 2021) – PC Leader Ches Crosbie today revealed the PC Party of Newfoundland and Labrador’s fully costed 2021 Blue Book.
“Today, I’m pleased to unveil our comprehensive blueprint to Bring Back Jobs and get our economy working again,” said Crosbie.
“Unlike the Liberals, who think we can cut our way to prosperity, Progressive Conservatives know that bringing back jobs and driving economic growth are key to addressing our fiscal crisis,” said Crosbie. “The choice is clear - jobs and growth under a Progressive Conservative government, or fewer jobs and a deep cuts under the Liberals.”
A PC Government will:
• Stimulate job growth by cutting the payroll tax, offering a hiring tax credit, and a relocation tax credit to get more people working here in Newfoundland and Labrador;
• Be a champion for the offshore oil and gas industry, while preparing the province for the new green economy;
• Ensure local benefits agreements are in place for all government infrastructure projects, while ensuring a buy-local policy for government to allow local workers and local businesses get ahead;
• Crack down on corruption by introducing the strongest anti-corruption legislation in Canada.
• Go line-by-line through provincial expenditures to cut down on government waste, working with frontline workers, union leaders, and the general public to assess the impact of any reduction in government spending;
• Ensure accessible healthcare by offering 100% reimbursement of all medical-related travel through the province, by delivering a PET Scanner to the Western Memorial Hospital, and starting a feasibility study to replace the long-term care centre in the Stephenville-Port au Port/Bay St. George region;
• Deliver a feasibility study on a highway through the North Coast of Labrador to unlock the economic potential of Labrador, while direction Nalcor Energy to settle the class action lawsuit that followed the 2017 flood in Mud Lake
“A PC Government is the only government with a plan to Bring Back Jobs to Newfoundland and Labrador,” said PC Leader Ches Crosbie.
