(February 15, 2021) – : : PC Leader Ches Crosbie, on behalf of the PC Party of Newfoundland and Labrador, today extended his condolences to the families still reeling 39 years after the loss of the Ocean Ranger and the 84 crew members on board.

“This year marks 39 years since the crew of the Ocean Ranger was lost during a howling winter storm. Every year this date serves as a stark reminder the power of the unforgiving North Atlantic . On behalf of the PC Party of Newfoundland and Labrador I offer my sincere condolences to those who lost loved ones in the tragedy,” said Crosbie.

“We must keep the safety of offshore oil and gas workers as the highest priority in our industry to prevent any such tragedies from happening in the future. We do this in memory of the lives lost on that cold February morning.”
