(August 25, 2021) – David Brazil, Leader of the PC Official Opposition, is wishing Katarina Roxon the best of luck at the upcoming Paralympic Games in Japan.
Roxon, a native of Kippens, is an accomplished swimmer both nationally and internationally for well over a decade. She was awarded a gold medal for the 100 metre breaststroke at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro.
“Katarina is one of the finest athletes that Newfoundland and Labrador has ever produced. On behalf of myself and the PC Official Opposition, we want to wish her the best of luck in her upcoming competition – Newfoundland and Labrador will be rooting for you,” said Brazil.
Outside of competition, Roxon dedicates considerable efforts to work with charities and is a recipient of the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Tony Wakeham, PC MHA for Stephenville-Port au Port, also extended his best wishes to Roxon as she prepares to show her excellence on the world stage once again.
“Katarina is pure class both in and out of the pool. The people of Kippens and the entire Bay St. George region are proud to have such an inspirational young woman represent Canada on the world stage. Katarina will continue to make us proud every single day,” said Wakeham.
