(June 24, 2022) – Leadership co-chair Rhonda McMeekin stated “We have spent a significant amount of time over the last number of months consulting with the PC Party grassroots to determine a timeline that we felt would reflect what our membership has told us. PC Party members stand firmly behind our caucus and interim leader David Brazil and we felt this timeline would allow our caucus members to continue their hard work on behalf of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians, but still have a permanent leader in place in due time for the next general election”.
According to the previously released leadership rules, the timeline for the leadership contest will be as
follows:
May 17, 2023 – Nominations open
June 16, 2023 – Nominations close
August 15, 2023 – Deadline to sign up members and supporters
October 4, 2023 – Voting begins
October 14, 2023 – Voting ends at 5 pm
October 14, 2023 – Announcement of the new leader (time TBA)

“We look forward, over the next 15 months, to hearing from new and veteran PC Party members about their vision for the future of our party. As a committee, we are committed to a fair, open, and transparent process that will see our new leader installed on October 14, 2023” said Shawn Skinner, Leadership Committee Co-chair.
