Ball Liberals Go Dark, Limit Access to Public Building as Concerns Grow

Paul Davis, Leader of the Official Opposition, said, "The Ball Liberals have gone dark‎ and are limiting access to the people's building as protestors express concern over planned reservoir flooding at Muskrat Falls in Labrador."

"Where is the Premier? The very Premier who said 'if you can't listen you can't lead' is neither listening nor leading now. He won't even make an appearance to face the questions. He is hiding from people who want answers. The House is closed. The people's building is closed. The Liberals' ears are closed. They are ducking and dodging people who are demanding answers," he said.

"Where is Minister Coady when people are asking about Muskrat Falls? Why is the province's Natural Resources Minister in New York for a celebration instead of Newfoundland and Labrador to answer the people about her government's handling of Muskrat Falls?‎ Where do the Labrador Liberal MHAs who were elected to represent their constituents stand? Where is MP Yvonne Jones and what is her position?”

“The Liberals have had eleven months to adjust the project to deal with people's concerns, and they have done nothing," said Davis. "It is on their shoulders to satisfy people that everything is being done to manage the Muskrat Falls project properly, but they are leaving people outraged by their refusal to own up to their responsibilities and face the people."

"It's time for the Premier and his Minister to face the people and answer to the decisions they are making and the things they are failing to do," he said.
