St. John’s, NL (February 12. 2019) –

PC Opposition Leader Ches Crosbie today wishes St. John’s Centre MHA and NDP Leader Gerry Rogers all the best in her retirement from political life, first announced today.

Crosbie said, “Gerry has served passionately the people of her district in the House of Assembly over the last eight years.”

Ms. Rogers was commended across the province for introducing the motion in January 2015 that formed the All-Party Committee on Mental Health and Addictions, which produced its report in March 2017 to overhaul mental health policy and addictions treatment in Newfoundland and Labrador.

“Ms. Rogers’ retirement from politics is well earned,” said Crosbie.  “On behalf of myself and the entire PC caucus, I wish Gerry and her partner Peg Norman all the best in the next stage of their lives.”
