Liberal government of submitting to a federal takeover of offshore natural resources, and vowed
to reporters that he would defend jobs and prosperity under the Atlantic Accord “by all lawful
means, including court action.”

Crosbie gave a press briefing outside a conference room in front of the Delta Hotel in St. John’s,

Crosbie also accused the Trudeau and Ball Liberal governments of political manipulation of the
federal regulator. “Two offshore exploration projects were waiting 33 months for approval, and
got released an hour before Ball called the provincial election”, Crosbie said. “This is an abuse of

Exploration projects are required to be approved within 9 months under the Atlantic Accord
legislation, Crosbie told reporters.

Crosbie added that the legislation the Senate Committee is considering is “an attack on jobs and
prosperity in this province. Our only hope of defending the Atlantic Accord is to replace ‘No
Fight in Dwight’ with ‘Don’t Mess with Ches’.”
