Goose Bay, NL (October 31, 2019) – PC MHA for Torngat Mountains Lela Evans has met with Chief Eugene Hart to express her support as the community of Sheshatshiu struggles with a suicide crisis that the community has declared in the wake of 10 suicide attempts in recent days.

“Our Caucus and people throughout our province are heartbroken as we realize the grief and pain the people of Sheshatshiu are facing,” said Evans.

“We in the Official Opposition Caucus are offering Chief Hart and the community any support we can give,” she said.

“We want everyone in the community to know that people across your province and far beyond are grieving with you and standing beside you.  As you seek a path forward, always know that you are not alone.”
