St. John’s, NL (August 22, 2018) – Today Ches Crosbie, Leader of the PC Party and PC Candidate in the district of Windsor Lake, is welcoming his Liberal competitor Paul Antle into the upcoming byelection race.

“I would like to welcome Paul Antle to the upcoming byelection contest in Windsor Lake. The future of our province is at a turning point, and this contest will be critical in determining the future for the people of Windsor Lake,” said Crosbie

“l look forward to robust debate with Mr. Antle on the campaign trail, and contrasting the Ball Liberal government’s high-tax economic record with my plan to lower taxes, ensure affordable energy rates and return honesty to governance.”

Crosbie is also asking Antle to join his call for Premier Ball to provide an update on the recent harassment investigations which has removed two Liberal cabinet ministers from his caucus.

“I would like to invite Mr. Antle, on his first day on the campaign trail, to join me in asking Premier Ball to provide a public update on the on-going harassment investigations being completed on two previous members of his cabinet,” said Crosbie

“The current process ensures that the Premier will be the only individual to receive a report detailing the outcome of some of these investigations. The Premier has an obligation to the people of this province that these reports be made available to the public as soon as possible.”

Crosbie would like to see these reports be made available before the upcoming byelection date.

“Ms. Bennett, the outgoing MHA, cited that intimidation and harassment from her Liberal colleagues caused her to leave her previous cabinet role last year. It is clear that harassment is a serious issue within our government under the leadership of Premier Ball,” added Crosbie

“It is important that we hold our politicians responsible for inappropriate behaviour. Therefore, I am urging the Premier to make the outcome of these investigations known – including what impact it will have on the status of the former cabinet ministers -- before a single vote is cast in this upcoming byelection race.”
