St. John’s, NL (February 7, 2019) – PC Opposition Leader Ches Crosbie says that a constituent and his family are angry and upset after the comments Minister Haggie made to the news media regarding the constituent’s battle with the health care system for the medication that he desperately needs.
Earlier this week, Crosbie responded to the predicament his constituent was in regarding the denial of the $800/month lifesaving drug he desperately needs.
“The Minister of Health and Community Services spoke to news media yesterday, and revealed confidential details of my constituents’ case without his consent. Worse still, the individual expressed to me that he felt belittled, disrespected, and that he was being blamed for not obtaining the drug that he needs”, said Crosbie.
Crosbie says, “The Minister is himself a doctor, which makes this situation even more egregious. The Minister needs to apologize immediately to both my constituent and the family for his blatant disregard for their rights and dignity”.
