St. John's, NL (August 18, 2020) – Ches Crosbie, PC Opposition Leader and MHA for Windsor Lake, says, "Bill Morneau was no friend of Newfoundland and Labrador, and his successor needs to be more attuned to the realities here - particularly the urgency of heeding NOIA's call for incentives to drive oil and gas exploration, investment and jobs in our job-starved province."

"Morneau - just like Trudeau and O'Regan - completely ignored NOIA's calls for oil exploration incentives while the entire summer work season passed us by. They also failed to deliver on rate mitigation - with barely a whimper from the provincial Liberals."

"Morneau also failed to deliver Trudeau's promise of equalization reform, instead locking in the current crooked formula, which leaves our province with zero while other provinces have been running budgetary surpluses with the billions they've been receiving. Morneau walked all over us, and the provincial Liberals let them," he said.

"Andrew Furey is coming to office promising the same cozy approach that failed to deliver for Newfoundland and Labrador under the Ball administration. It's high time for a loud, strong and effective voice that puts Newfoundland and Labrador's best interests ahead of those of the self-serving Liberal party."
