St. John's, NL (September 22, 2020) – Ches Crosbie, PC Opposition Leader and MHA for Windsor Lake, is calling on Premier Furey to let the public know what he wants from Liberal Ottawa. “Furey told the jobs rally at Confederation Building last week that he talks to his Liberal friends every day, but he’s never told us what he’s looking for,” said Crosbie.
Crosbie said that while provinces like Alberta publicize their requests for financial help and obtain support from important provincial allies in advance of tomorrow’s Throne Speech, “Furey thinks he can do it all in secret calls to Liberal friends. He should tell the public exactly what he wants on offshore support, fiscal stabilization and electrical rate mitigation.”
“Any Premier who wants to champion Newfoundland and Labrador in Ottawa requires public support for their priorities” Crosbie added, “and those priorities start and end with jobs”.
