St. John's, NL (September 25, 2020) – PC Leader and MHA for Windsor Lake, Ches Crosbie, is raising questions following the mention of the Atlantic Loop in the Federal Throne Speech.

“The concept of exporting clean, green hydroelectricity throughout Canada is not a new idea. However, without seeing the details of such a project, I question whether Quebec will receive the greatest benefit? Will the Atlantic Loop help residents of this province? How much will be provided for rate relief?” said Crosbie.

Additionally, Crosbie expressed concern that the Provincial Liberals are not engaged on this file.

“Minister Parsons heard about the Atlantic Loop from the media, while he was driving across the province. If this is the case, I must question if the province is even at the table? Is Quebec doing a deal with the other provinces while we are being left out?” questioned Crosbie.

“It appears that the Atlantic Loop was announced to the benefit of Quebec while Minister Parsons is content to watch from the sidelines,” concluded Crosbie.
