Crosbie says, “We offer our deepest condolences to the friends, family, and loved ones of Mr. Robert Wells. Mr. Wells served the people of Newfoundland and Labrador through a long and storied career. From electoral politics to presiding over the inquiry that made recommendations for offshore safety, Robert Wells was a giant.”

Mr. Wells served in the House of Assembly from 1972-1979, was president of the Newfoundland Law Society from 1977-1981, was the only Newfoundland and Labrador president of the Canadian Bar Association, and as a Supreme Court Justice.

“He will be dearly missed by those that had the privilege to meet him,” says Crosbie.
