St. John's, NL (November 10, 2020) – Ches Crosbie, PC Official Opposition Leader and MHA for Windsor Lake, is echoing the call of the Atlantic Canada Airports Association for point of entry testing in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Crosbie says that, “The PC Official Opposition has been steadfast since the early days of the pandemic in support of point of entry testing for Newfoundland and Labrador. Rotational workers in our province have been asked to sacrifice for months without an end in sight. Compassion for these workers from government needs to be something other than words.”

The Atlantic Canada Airports Association has also made clear that they are worried about airlines slashing routes for the region. They indicate that point of entry testing could preserve the routes that are currently operational.

“These routes are vitally important not only to our airports but to our economy and our tourism industry in particular. Anything that can be done to preserve air access to our province needs to be considered. A recovery for industries such as hospitality will be suffocated if these routes are not kept intact,” says Crosbie.
