St. John's, NL (November 20, 2020) – Ches Crosbie, Leader of the PC Official Opposition and MHA for Windsor Lake, and Lela Evans, PC MHA for Torngat Mountains, today are offering condolences to the friends, family, and loved ones, of former Labrador Inuit Leader William Barbour.

Crosbie said, “Mr. Barbour was a force of nature in defending the rights of Labrador Inuit. Respected by all that had the privilege to meet him, he will be sorrily missed by those that he dedicated his life to represent.”

First elected in 1994, William Barbour served as President of the Labrador Inuit Association for 9 years.

“Mr. Barbour provided strong leadership during a very turbulent period for Labrador Inuit. His dedication to his people will be forever remembered,” ended Evans.
