St. John's, NL (November 25, 2020) – Pleaman Forsey, PC MHA for Exploits, and Chris Tibbs, PC MHA for Grand Falls-Windsor – Buchans, are raising concerns on the recruitment efforts for the new CEO of Central Health.

Forsey says, “In June, the CEO of Central Health indicated she would be leaving her position and moved to New Brunswick. Currently, this individual is fulfilling her role as CEO from Moncton until her replacement is found. Today, more than five months later, a new CEO has not been recruited. This is completely unacceptable.”

Tibbs says, “Why is Central Health taking so long with the CEO’s replacement? Could this position have been filled on an interim basis by someone on the ground in the Central Health region? The fact that this process has not been completed is deeply concerning.”

“In 2016, 24-hour emergency services were stripped from Botwood, now the Liberal Government are chipping away at lab services in Grand Falls-Windsor. It’s about time the Minister gave due diligence to health care services in Central-West,” says Forsey.
