For Immediate Release
St. John's, NL (December 23, 2020) – PC Leader and MHA for Windsor Lake, Ches Crosbie today released his Christmas message:
“For me, 2020 began with the passing of my father in January. His funeral the day before Snowmageddon was soon followed by the pandemic and may have been the last state funeral in Canada this year. I want to thank all those who expressed their condolences and their appreciation of John Crosbie's contributions to Newfoundland and Labrador and to Canada.
On behalf of our caucus, I want to thank all those who have had a role in responding to the Covid 19 pandemic, from healthcare workers to front line retail and transportation workers, cleaners, and many others. We are grateful for their efforts. Their hard work combined with our control over points of entry into our isolated province has allowed us to enjoy greater personal safety, liberty and closeness to loved ones than many other Canadians. We should never take these privileges for granted.
A special word of appreciation is due to our rotational workers who journey out at added personal risk to earn their livings. They are heroes to their families and to their communities.
Now, as we glimpse the beginning of the end of the war against the pandemic, we should be thankful for the resilient nature of the human spirit, and rededicate ourselves as Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to regaining control of our finances, rebuilding our economy and winning the war for jobs.
I would like to wish all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians a safe and Happy Christmas, and a very Happy New Year.”
