St. John's, NL (January 7, 2021) – Pleaman Forsey, PC MHA for Exploits, says the Liberals are ignoring a chance to create jobs in Newfoundland and Labrador yet again.
Having secured a $2 million investment on the CBC program Dragon’s Den, Ocean Floor Granite and CEO Mark Brace have a deadline to make the project a reality coming up – and the Liberal government needs to step up and support, according to Forsey.
“All the company is asking for is a re-payable loan to make the project happen. It’s unacceptable that government has yet to offer support to a project that has the endorsement of investors and can create jobs right here in Newfoundland and Labrador,” said Forsey.
“I’m disappointed to see another opportunity to create jobs in the district of Exploits at risk of passing by and it’s time for the Liberal government to step up. It’s critical to create well-paying jobs to ensure the economic recovery of Newfoundland and Labrador.”
