TOM HEALEY

Gander

Born in Holyrood, Newfoundland and Labrador, Tom Healey developed a passion for politics, admiring former politicians like Norman Doyle who represented his district with pride. Tom has called Gander home since 1999 when he moved here to work with Customs Border Services with his wife, Bonnie, and three children, Brandon, Daniel, and Madison. In 2001, he trained as an Air Traffic Controller, working at Gander Control Tower and since 2017, he has been teaching students to become Air Traffic Controllers.

Working at Gander International Airport his entire career in Gander, he understands the importance it has for the entire Central Region, and is dedicated to ensuring that the region is not forgotten when it comes to healthcare and other necessary services.

Deeply rooted in the volunteer community, he has been involved in the organization of local, provincial, national and international events, and has spent countless hours ensuring that the needs of the community are met. He was involved in bringing the Gander Soccer, Track and Field Facility to Gander and was the driving force in starting up the Gander Minor Softball Association which provides another physical activity for the youth of our area.

He understands that the best way to find solutions to problems is to consult with subject matter experts before making decisions. He also believes that we need to concentrate on ensuring that we make decisions that will help our children in the future.

Tom is ready to represent and be a strong voice for the District of Gander
