Walter Yetman is an experienced small business owner and community leader from Bay Roberts. He has lived in the community all his life and raised his family there. Walter took over his family’s contracting company in 1994 and went on to successfully contribute to housing development in the Conception Bay North area for over 30 years.

Walter has a longstanding commitment to volunteer public service, and to his community. He first ran for municipal government in 2005 and went on to serve two terms as a councillor for the Town of Bay Roberts. From 2013 to 2021, he was Deputy Mayor. In 2021, he successfully ran for the mayor’s position. Prior to joining council, Walter was a volunteer firefighter for 10 years with the Bay Roberts Fire Department.

Walter has dedicated his leadership to connecting with people, understanding their issues, and listening to their needs. He is a strong proponent of people working together to improve their quality of life. His reasonable and fair approach has been a cornerstone of his success.

In his spare time, Walter enjoys playing pool, gardening, spending time outdoors, and building things. He is an animal lover. Walter lives in Bay Roberts with his partner, their five cats and two dogs.
