About Lin Paddock

A leader, humanitarian, Christian, and team-builder, with extensive financial management, logistics,
and relationship building experience. Mission focused, he has led very complex demands with the
Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and has honed strong business development skills with two NL entities.
A native of Green Bay South, community service and hard work were instilled early, as seen in being
awarded the Integrity Award on graduating Dorset Collegiate. Selected for the Regular Officer
Training Program, Lin completed a Business Degree (Hon) from College Militaire Royale (St. Jean,
Que). After Naval commissioning, Lin advanced through merit-based promotions to hold senior CAF
leadership roles. From seven years in various sea going roles, to handling demanding HQ positions,
Lin has always been a passionate NL Ambassador. During his accomplished military career, Lin was
often called on to handle challenging roles, like coordination of all the logistics training at the CAF
School of Admin & Logistics (VP post) and like supporting a myriad of military emergency missions.
Of note, he provided unwavering leadership to logistics operations in the Arabian Gulf, after the fire
onboard HMCS CHICOUTIMI, and after Hurricane KATRINA struck the Southern U.S.
In his last military rank, Commander, Lin held command of the largest CAF’s Logistics Command in
Halifax (850 personnel), and in his last military post, he was the Director Finance at National Defence
HQ for all military operations. During these senior roles, Lin gained notable experience in public fiscal
arrangements, in handling public administration, and in strategic logistics planning.
On coming home, Lin first served as Ex Director of the Aerospace & Defence Industry Association
(ADIANL). Under his leadership, ADIANL membership doubled and the Maritime & Arctic Security &
Safety Conference became a recognized international event. Subsequent to ADIANL, Lin joined
Virtual Marine, where he has led a myriad of sales efforts and government funding files, and most
notably, where he has learned first-hand about the varied challenges that small businesses face.
A strong PC supporter, reflected by his contributions to the Election policy “Blue Book”, Lin has a
strong interest from his public administration studies to advancing economic development in NL.
Mission focused with boundless energy, Lin is seized with the need to act with urgency now on many
of the problems facing NL – like the economic, fiscal, and population growth challenges.
