Born and raised in Island Harbour, Fogo Island, Jim and his wife
worked hard to raise a family of six daughters. His father started
the family business, and Jim continued on that legacy for many
years until becoming the distributor for Brookfield.
He spent time in Alberta, working in the oil field, allowing him to
recognize the importance of supporting rotational workers and
their families.
Jim is acutely aware of the harsh realities of the soaring cost of
living. He witnesses daily the struggles of many seniors, families,
and others due to costly Liberal taxes such as the carbon tax and sugar tax.
He understands the need to make healthcare more accessible
and the profound impact of fisheries anxiety on harvesters, plant
workers, and local businesses. This personal understanding drives
his commitment to serve the community.
Jim knows the district, the people, and its issues and is ready to
stand up and work hard on behalf of the residents of Fogo Island –
Cape Freels as your next MHA.
