Statement from the Progressive Conservative Party of Newfoundland and Labrador on the results of the 2025 Election.

The Liberal Party’s decision to play legal games in order to cling to power is disappointing but not surprising.

Voters in Newfoundland and Labrador decisively rejected the Liberals precisely because time and time again the Liberal Government put their self-interest ahead of the public interest.  Their latest scheme is just more proof that nothing has changed.  

This is a waste of the court's time. None of the three electoral districts cited by the Liberals met the legal threshold for an automatic recount. We intend to vigorously defend the integrity of the election process that resulted in PC candidates being elected in Lewisporte-Twilingate, Topsail-Paradise and Placentia-West Bellevue.   

Once all of the votes are counted we look forward to still welcoming Mark Butt, Paul Dinn and Jeff Dwyer as elected members of the Government Caucus.
