Wakeham Commits to New Urgent Care Clinic for Conception Bay South
Conception Bay South, NL – Progressive Conservative Leader Tony Wakeham today announced that a PC government will establish a new Urgent Care Clinic in Conception Bay South. Wakeham was joined by Progressive Conservative candidates including Barry Petten, the PC candidate for Conception Bay South.
“This is a healthcare election,”
“This is a healthcare election,” Wakeham said. “For months we have been putting forward a real plan to improve our system — with free Nurse Practitioner visits, new MRIs and more nurses, doctors, and nurse practitioners,” said Wakeham. “Meanwhile, the Liberals spent a decade ignoring the problem, and today Newfoundland and Labrador ranks dead last in the country for healthcare.”
Wakeham praised long-time CBS MHA Barry Petten for tirelessly raising concerns about access to family doctors, nurse practitioners and overcrowded emergency departments.
To provide better healthcare in the Northeast Avalon and surrounding area, a PC government will open up a new Urgent Care Clinic right here in Conception Bay South.
The proposed Urgent Care Clinic with access to nurse practitioners, doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. By helping people avoid emergency departments, the centre will reduce wait times and improve access to care closer to home.
“An Urgent Care Clinic in this area is long overdue,” said Wakeham. “A Progressive Conservative Government will provide better healthcare, lower taxes, and safer communities for all of us.”
